Mk3 Sleeper Coach SLEP
The Sleeper Carriages are the only type of sleeping carriage remaining in revenue earning service in the entire United Kingdom.
208 were built by BREL in Derby between 1981 and 1984, and entrered service from 1982 onwards. As of today, many are still in use by either heritage railways or with National Rail operators, such as Great Western Railway and Serco, on each operator's once a day services, these being the Night Rivera Sleeper and Caledonian Sleeper respectively.
Ten were exported to Denmark to run sleepers, they were classified as WLABr. They were given a UIC number during this time.
